The “Italy of Innovators” is an initiative launched by the Agency for the promotion of Innovation Technologies, in collaboration with the Department for digitalization and technological innovation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with the aim to enhance best practices of the Italian excellence in innovation and technology.
The project’s objective is to draw general public’s attention not only to the already well known aspects of our Country, related to the traditional sectors of the “Made in Italy”, but rather to unveil a more complete image of Italy as a “Country of Innovation” capable of creating innovative and high-technology products in many areas, from the building industry to the environmental protection, from the health industry to the artistic heritage protection, up to communications, eGovernament and the industrial security sector.
The first edition, launched by the Italian Government at the Shanghai Expo 2010, offered a high-level showcase featuring top class Italian innovative products. It showed to also an excellent opportunity to follow and to support the Italian companies in such an interesting market as the Chinese one.
The “Italy of Innovators” project was awarded the best innovation project of the entire World Exposition in Universal Exposition by the Expo Organizing Committee.
For the first time the Government had strongly acknowledged the Italian innovation abroad, promoting thus technological excellences of our Country. The Agency, thanks to this project, had been able to change the perception of Italy in China, contributing thus to improve trading in technological field between the two countries.
In fact, an excellent result achieved by the “Italy of Innovators” project gave rise during t to a protocol on the technological exchange between the two countries, signed during the visit of the Premier Wen Jiabao in Italy on October 7, 2011. Moreover, a Committee on technological transfer had been set up with the Agency as a promoter for the Italian part.
